TIME...
So, trying to be a respectful individual... I know how busy doctors offices are... I know if you don't show up or call to reschedule you can be charged a fee...I know how precious time is...I know how very valuable it is...I know all this...
I call my doctors office...I go through a directory of statements that finely tell me to then "push # 0" for the operator...I listen to a voice telling me that "someone will be with you shortly"...I listen to every service they offer, who their newest physician is, all of their office locations all over the city and then hear that "someone will be with you shortly"...I hear a voice saying "We are still practicing our COVID rules of masking and distancing" and so this craziness continues. I don't hang up because I am into this now, I need to know how long this insanity will go on...32 minutes later I end my call...I have wasted over half an hour waiting for someone to pick up the call... I am no longer the kind, respectful individual I once was...in fact I am filling my home space with the language I have heard in the past years of my locker room life...
I begin to smile, a chuckle sneaks out as I pace and gesticulate with flabby arms in the open space of my home and declare out loud that I have white hair, I moan when I rise from a chair, I have to sit down to put on my pants, my arms have limited range of motion, cooking, cleaning and doing anything seems to be all in slow motion, there is no speed happening here...my shelf life is getting shorter which means...my time, the time of here and now, the present time may be all I have so... why in anyone's office management decision would someone think that anyone, particularly SENIORS have all damn day to wait for "someone will be with you shortly" before picking up the telephone!!!
Please, business offices, please answer your telephones...we have no time to waste...
